Massive Mega Millions jackpot up for grabs Friday night

FL Mega Millions News and Payout for Tuesday, January 4th, 2022 Drawing
The lottery official announced that the Tuesday, January 4th, 2022, Mega Millions drawing resulted in a carry over, creating an $278 million grand prize for the next drawing Friday. The cash option will be $193 million. The winning numbers from Tuesday, January 4th, 2022 drawing were 04, 06, 16, 21, 22 with Mega Ball number 01 and Megaplier x3.
While the jackpot was not hit Tuesday evening, some players still walked away with large winnings. There were four 2nd prize winning tickets from Tuesday night's Mega Millions drawing, matching all five white ball numbers but not the Mega Ball number. The four second prize winning ticket(s) bought in won $1,000,000 cash each.
Other prizes won Tuesday night included 34 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers as well as the Mega Ball and won $10,000. Additional prizes won Tuesday night included 863 tickets that matched 4 white numbers and won $500. Other prizes won included 1880 tickets that matched 3 white numbers plus the Mega Ball and won $200.
With 9 different ways to win, there were 1,940,382 winning tickets sold nationwide in the Tuesday, January 4th, 2022 drawing.
Mega Millions is one of the most popular lottery games in the U.S. sold in 44 member states as a pari-mutuel jackpot game. The odds of matching all six Mega Millions numbers are 1 to 302,575,350. The minimum Mega Millions grand prize starts at 40 million dollar. Its annuity option is paid in 30 equal annual installments. Winners may select one lump-sum cash payout instead.
