The jackpot for Saturday's Powerball drawing skyrockets to $384 million

The projected grand prize for Wednesday night's drawing was $363 million. According to Powerball, no player matched every number and the jackpot increased to an estimated $384 million. The lump-sum cash payout will be an estimated $295.4 million up for grab. The numbers from Wednesday night, December 30th, 2020 were 03-43-45-61-65 with Power Ball 14. Nobody won the Powerball grand prize in the past 92 draws since Saturday, February 15th, 2020. The last jackpot was won by a single ticket sold in Michigan, matched all six numbers for a $70.00 million top prize.
Even though the jackpot was not awarded Wednesday evening, some people still walked away with large winnings. A total of 14 lucky tickets won the third prize with or without Power Play. These included 12 tickets that matched four white ball numbers as well as the Powerball and won $10,000.
Other prizes won Wednesday night included 565 tickets that matched 4 white numbers and won $100. 134 additional tickets of this prize level were also wisely bought with the Power Play option that doubled winnings to $200 cash! There were 1459 tickets that matched three white ball numbers as well as the Powerball and also won $100. 302 additional players not just matched 3+1, but also chose the Power Play option, doulbled the prizes to $200 cash each ticket.
With nine different prize levels, there were 1,124,670 tickets nationwide won a total of $0 prizes in the Wednesday, December 30th, 2020 drawing.
Powerball game can be played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Powerball game uses a 5/69 (white balls) + 1/26 (Powerballs) matrix from which winning numbers are chosen. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to pay 1 extra dollar to purchase the Power Play, which increases the winnings except jackpot. The minimum Powerball grand prize starts at $40 million. Its annuity option is paid in 30 yearly increment installments. Winners may choose one time lump sum cash payout instead.
