Powerball jackpot leaps to $522 million Monday, January 3rd, 2022; Four players won the second prize

The grand prize in the Powerball multistate lottery game continues going up and will be up to $522 million for the next drawing on Monday. The cash value will be a projected $371.5 million. The amount was rolled over because no one hit all 5 white ball numbers plus the Powerball number to win the $500 million grand prize Saturday night. The winning numbers drawn Saturday night, January 1st, 2022 were 06-12-39-48-50 with Power Ball number 07. The Powerball grand prize has been growing for 77 draws since Wednesday, June 16th, 2021. A single lucky winner from won the $31.00 million top prize in Saturday, June 12th, 2021 drawing.
While the grand prize was not hit Saturday evening, Powerball did produce some big winners. There were four lucky players that correctly matched the first five white ball numbers and won the 2nd prize. The 3 second prize winning ticket(s) bought in Arizona(1), California(1) and Florida(1) won $1,000,000 cash. The other 1 second prize winner(s) from Maryland also bought Power Play, which doubled the prize to $2 million cash win!
Also, 56 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers, as well as the Powerball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000. 7 additional players not just matched 4+1, but additionally bought the Power Play option, multiplying the winnings by 4 for a total win of $40,000 each!
There were 250,135 Powewrball winning tickets sold in the state of Florida. The lucky Florida ticket won the second prize was sold from . Eight tickets sold in Florida matched 4 lotto numbers and also the Powerball. These lucky ticket holders will collect $10,000 cash each. A ticket sold in Florida matched 4 lotto numbers in addition to the Powerball with Power Play option purchased. Powerball can be played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Powerball drawings are held 2 times a week every Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time. To play, pick 5 numbers from 1 to 69 and select one Powerball number from 1 to 26. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to pay 1 extra dollar to purchase the Power Play option, which increases the original prizes except grand prize. The minimum Powerball jackpot is $40,000,000. Its annuity option is paid in 30 graduated installments in 29 years. Winners can select one-time lump-sum cash payout option instead.
