Saturday's Powerball jackpot goes to $277 million; 1 second prize ticket sold

The Powerball grand prize increased because no one hit all six numbers from Wednesday night's $258 million drawing. The next grand prize rolled up to $277 million for Saturday night's drawing. The cash option will be $188.4 million. The winning numbers drawn Wednesday night, January 8th, 2020 were 02-04-07-43-56 and Powerball was 22.
Though the jackpot was not hit Wednesday evening, some players still walked away with big money. There was only one 2nd prize winning ticket from Wednesday night's drawing, matching the first five lotto numbers but not the Powerball number. The one lucky ticket(s) purchased in West Virginia, each won 1 million dollar cash by matching all 5 white ball numbers.
Other prizes won Wednesday night included 24 tickets that matched 4 white numbers together with Powerball and won $10,000. There were 4 tickets matched 4+1 with Power Play option, multiplying the winnings by 4 for a total win of $40,000 each! In addition, 432 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $100. There were three lucky Floridaers matched 4 lotto numbers in addition to the Powerball and won $10,000. 163 tickets were sold in the state of Florida which matched either 4 or 3+1 numbers. The lucky ticket holders will collect $100 each. 50 tickets were sold in the state of Florida which matched either 4 or 3+1 numbers with Power Play. The lucky ticket holders will receive $200 each.

America's favorite Powerball is played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Powerball drawings are held 2 times a week every Wednesday and Saturday night at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time.
