Powerball jackpot jumps to $27 million Wednesday; 4 second prize tickets sold

The Powerball lottery jackpot has jumped up to a projected $27 million (cash value $18.7 million) for the next drawing in the multistate lottery game Wednesday night. The jackpot amount has been rolled over because no player hit all 5 lotto numbers plus the Powerball number to take the $27 million jackpot Monday night. The winning numbers from Monday, January 10th, 2022 drawing were 14, 17, 18, 21, 27 and Powerball number was 09. There was no jackpot winning ticket sold in the past 81 draws since Wednesday, June 16th, 2021. The last jackpot was won by a lucky ticket sold in , matched all six numbers for a $31.00 million top prize.
Though the grand prize was not awarded Monday evening, Powerball had some huge winners. There were 4 lucky tickets matched all five numbers but missed Powerball number, which won the 2nd prize. The three second prize winning ticket(s) purchased in New York(1) and Texas(2) will collect 1 million dollar cash. The other 1 second prize winner(s) from Iowa also chose Power Play, which doubled the prize to 2 million dollar cash win!
Also, 9 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers, plus the Powerball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000. 6 additional tickets of this prize level were also wisely bought with the Power Play option that multiplied the prize 4 times to $40,000 cash!
There were 26,860 Powewrball winning tickets sold in the state of Florida. There was a lucky Floridaer matched 4 white ball numbers and also the Powerball and won $10,000. 81 tickets were sold in the state of Florida which matched either 4 or 3+1 numbers. The lucky ticket holders will receive $100 each. There were 38 lucky Florida players won $200 prize by matching 4 or 3+1 numbers with Power Play purchased.
With nine different ways to win, the Monday night's drawing produced 294,817 winning tickets across U.S. with a total amount of $0 prizes.
Powerball is played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Powerball game uses a 5/69+1/26 matrix from which winning numbers are chosen. The overall odds of winning any prizes is about 1 to 32. The chances of matching all six Powerball numbers are about 1 in 292 million. The minimum Powerball advertised jackpot is $40,000,000. Its annuity option is paid in 30 yearly increment payments in 29 years. Winners may select one lump-sum cash payout option instead.
