Powerball jackpot increases to $48 million; 4 tickets matched the first five numbers

The Powerball grand prize has jumped up to a projected $48 million (cash value $33.3 million) for the next drawing in the multistate lottery game Saturday night. The jackpot amount has been carried over since no player hit all five lotto numbers and the Powerball number to take the $38 million jackpot Wednesday night. The winning numbers from Wednesday, January 12th, 2022 drawing were 12, 21, 22, 30, 33 with Power Ball 24.
While the jackpot was not hit Wednesday evening, Powerball did produce some big winners. There were 4 second prize winning tickets from Wednesday night's Powerball drawing, matching all 5 lotto numbers except the Powerball number. The 3 second prize winning ticket(s) bought in Florida(1), Kansas(1) and New York(1) will collect $1,000,000 cash. The other 1 second prize winner(s) from Indiana also purchased Power Play, which doubled the prize to $2,000,000 cash win!
Additional major winners Wednesday night included 8 tickets that matched four white ball numbers as well as the Powerball and won $10,000. 4 additional tickets of this prize level were also wisely bought with the Power Play option that multiplied the prize 4 times to $40,000 cash!
There were 32,887 Powewrball winning tickets sold in the state of Florida. The lucky Florida ticket won the second prize was sold from . There were 72 lucky Florida winners won $100 prize by matching 4 or 3+1 numbers. There were 25 lucky Florida players won $200 prize by matching 4 or 3+1 numbers with Power Play purchased.
With 9 prize tiers, the Wednesday night's drawing generated 355,133 winning tickets nationwide with a total amount of $0 prizes.
Powerball lottery is played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. The minimum Powerball jackpot is $40,000,000. The annuity option is paid in 30 yearly increment installments. Winners may choose one lump sum cash payout instead.
