Wednesday's Powerball jackpot rolls up to 35,000,000; 1 ticket won the second prize

The Powerball jackpot increased because nobody hit all six winning numbers from Monday night's 26,000,000 drawing. The next jackpot rised to 35,000,000 for Wednesday night's drawing. The lump-sum cash payout will be a projected $20.3 million. The winning numbers drawn Monday night, July 4th, 2022 were 15-16-24-31-56 and Powerball number was 04. The Powerball jackpot has been growing for 156 draws since Wednesday, June 16th, 2021. The last jackpot was won by a lucky ticket sold in , matched all six numbers for a $31.00 million top prize.
Even though the jackpot was not awarded Monday evening, Powerball did produce some big winners. There was a single second prize winner from Monday night's drawing, matching all five numbers except the Powerball number. The one lucky ticket(s) purchased in New Mexico, each won $1 million cash by matching all 5 white ball numbers.
Also, 2 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers, as well as the Powerball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000. 3 additional players not only matched 4+1, but also chose the Power Play option, multiplying the prizes by 4 for a total win of $40,000 each! Also, 83 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $100. There were 47 tickets matched 4 white ball with Power Play option, doubled the prizes to a total win of $200 each! There were 336 tickets that correctly matched three white ball numbers plus the Powerball and also won $100. 120 additional players not just matched 3+1, but in addition bought the Power Play option, doulbled the prizes to $200 cash each ticket.
With nine ways to win, the Monday night's drawing generated 234,263 winning tickets nationwide with a total amount of $0 prizes.
Powerball game can be played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to spend 1 extra dollar to buy the Power Play option, which multiplies the original winnings except jackpot. The odds of winning any prizes is about 1 to 32. The odds of winning Powerball grand prize are 1 to 292,201,338. The minimum Powerball advertised jackpot is $40 million. Its annuity option is paid in 30 graduated payments. Winners may select one lump-sum cash payout instead.
