No jackpot ticket sold. Mega Millions jackpot jumps to $26,000,000

Florida Mega Millions News and Payout for Friday, April 21st, 2023 Drawing

The Mega Millions multi-state lottery jackpot increased to $26,000,000 (cash option $13.7 million) Tuesday night when there were no jackpot winners in the 20,000,000 drawing, lottery officials said. The winning numbers from Friday night, April 21st, 2023 were 03, 21, 29, 46, 63 with Mega Ball 09 and Megaplier x3.

Although the jackpot was not hit Friday evening, some players still walked away with big money. A total of 6 lucky tickets won the 3rd prize. These included 6 tickets that matched 4 white numbers plus the Mega Ball and won $10,000.

Other prizes won Friday night included 169 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers and won $500. There were 532 tickets that correctly matched 3 white ball numbers as well as the Mega Ball and also won $200.

With 9 different prize tiers, there were 818,774 winning tickets sold nationwide in the Friday, April 21st, 2023 drawing.

Mega Millions lottery is played in 43 states and D.C. Approximately 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back towards the players in prizes. Approximately 15% goes to retailer commissions and lottery operating costs. About 35% total sales is used in government services, education and charities in the participating lottery states. To play Mega Millions, pick 5 numbers from 1 to 70 then select a Mega Ball number from a set of 25. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to spend 1 extra dollar to buy the Megaplier, which multiplies the original winnings 2 to 5 times but not grand prize. The minimum Mega Millions advertised grand prize starts at $40 million. Its annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly payments. Winners may select one-time lump-sum cash payout option instead.
