Florida Mega Millions lottery News and Payout for Friday, April 26th, 2024 Drawing
The jackpot in the Mega Millions multi-state lottery game has been increased to $257,000,000. The cash value will be an estimated $$115.6 million. The prize amount was rolled over since no player matched all five white ball numbers plus the Mega Ball number in Friday's $228,000,000 drawing. The next Mega Millions drawing is Tuesday night. The numbers from Friday, April 26th, 2024 drawing were 15-23-53-57-61 and the Mega Ball was 09, Megaplier was 3.
Although the jackpot was not awarded Friday evening, some people still walked away with huge pile of cash. 12 third prize winning tickets were sold nationwide. These included 12 tickets that matched 4 white numbers plus the Mega Ball and won $10,000.
In addition, 289 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $500. There were 744 tickets that correctly matched three white ball numbers as well as the Mega Ball and also won $200.
With nine different ways to win, there were a total of 1,372,838 winning tickets sold nationwide in the Friday, April 26th, 2024 drawing.
Mega Millions lottery is played in 43 states and D.C. Roughly 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back for the players in prize winnings. About 15% is used to as commission of retailers and lottery operation expenses. Around 35% total sales is used in government services, education and charities in the participating lottery states. Mega Millions drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday night at 7:59 p.m. Pacific Time. Mega Millions uses a 5/70+1/25 matrix to randomly choose winning numbers. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to spend $1 extra to purchase the Megaplier option, which multiplies the original winnings 2 to 5 times but not jackpot. The odds of winning are about 1 to 14. The chances of winning Mega Millions jackpot are about 1 in 302 million. The minimum Mega Millions grand prize is $40,000,000. Its annuity option is paid in 30 equal annual payments. Winners may choose one lump sum cash payout option instead.
