Mega Millions jackpot climbs to $130,000,000; One ticket won the second prize

The Mega Millions multi-state lottery jackpot jumped to $130,000,000 (cash option $$58 million) Friday night when there were no jackpot winning tickets in the $120,000,000 drawing, lottery officials said. The winning numbers from Tuesday night, April 14th, 2026 were 17, 21, 24, 57, 69 with Mega Ball number 12 and Megaplier X.
Even though the jackpot was not hit Tuesday evening, some people still walked away with huge pile of cash. There was only one ticket that matched the first five white ball numbers and won the second prize. The one second prize winning ticket(s) bought in will collect a quarter million dollar cash each.
Also, 6 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers, as well as the Mega Ball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000. Additional prizes won Tuesday night included 106 tickets that matched four lotto numbers and won $500. 304 tickets matched three of the five lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number. These tickets are also each worth $200.
With 9 different ways to win, there were 417,716 winning tickets sold across U.S. in the Tuesday, April 14th, 2026 drawing.
Mega Millions is a consortium involving 44 state lotteries. Mega Millions drawings are held 2 times a week every Tuesday and Friday night at 7:59 PM Pacific Time. To play Mega Millions, choose 5 numbers from 1 to 70 and choose 1 Mega Ball number from 1 to 25. The chances of winning are about 1 to 14. The odds of matching all six Mega Millions numbers are about 1 in 302 million. The minimum Mega Millions advertised grand prize is 40 million dollar. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal annual payments. Winners can choose one lump sum cash payout option instead.
