Friday's Mega Millions jackpot rolls up to $60,000,000; One second prize ticket sold

The jackpot in the Mega Millions multistate lottery game keeps going up and will be up to a projected $60,000,000 for the next drawing on Friday. The lump-sum cash payout will be $$26.9 million. The amount was rolled over because no player matched all six numbers to win the $50,000,000 jackpot Tuesday night. The winning numbers drawn Tuesday night, April 22nd, 2025 were 25-39-49-52-65 with Mega Ball 22 and Megaplier X.
Though the grand prize was not awarded Tuesday evening, Mega Millions did produce some big winners. There was a single lucky ticket matched the first 5 numbers but missed Mega Ball number, which won the 2nd prize. The one lucky ticket(s) sold in WA, each won one quarter million dollar cash by matching all 5 white ball numbers.
Other prizes won Tuesday evening included 5 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers as well as the Mega Ball and won $10,000. Other prizes won Tuesday evening included 100 tickets that matched 4 lotto numbers and won $500. 297 tickets matched 3 of the 5 lotto numbers, as well as the Mega Ball number. These tickets are also each worth $200.
With nine prize tiers, there were 376,744 winning tickets sold across U.S. in the Tuesday, April 22nd, 2025 drawing.
Mega Millions is one of the most popular lottery games in the U.S. sold in 44 participating states as a shared jackpot game. On average, 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back for the players in prize winnings. Approximately 15% goes to commission of retailers and lottery operating costs. Approximately 35% total sales is used to support government services, education and charities in the participating lottery states. Mega Millions drawings occur 2 times a week every Tuesday and Friday at 7:59 p.m. Pacific Time. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to pay $1 extra to purchase the Megaplier option, which multiplies the prizes 2 to 5 times but not grand prize. The overall chances of winning any prizes are about 1 to 14. The chances of matching 6 Mega Millions numbers are 1 to 302,575,350. The minimum Mega Millions grand prize starts at $40,000,000. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal annual installments. Winners may select one lump-sum cash payout instead.
