There was no ticket sold with all 5 white ball numbers plus the Mega Ball number in the latest multi-state Mega Millions draw, and the estimated jackpot for Tuesday's drawing will leap to $619,000,000, according to lottery officials. The cash value stands at an estimated $$297.7 million. The numbers from Friday, December 6th, 2024 drawing were 16, 21, 33, 39, 45 with Mega Ball 24 and Megaplier X2.
Although the grand prize was not hit Friday evening, some players still walked away with huge pile of cash. There were a total of 22 third prize lucky winners. These included 22 tickets that matched 4 white numbers together with Mega Ball and won $10,000.
In addition, 579 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $500. Other prizes won included 1301 tickets that matched 3 white numbers as well as the Mega Ball and won $200.
With 9 different ways to win, there were a total of 2,007,652 winning tickets sold nationwide in the Friday, December 6th, 2024 drawing.
Mega Millions is a consortium involving 44 state lotteries. Mega Millions drawings are held 2 times a week every Tuesday and Friday night at 7:59 p.m. Pacific Time. Mega Millions lottery uses a 5/70+1/25 matrix from which winning numbers are chosen. The overall chances of winning any prizes are about 1 to 14. The chances of matching all six Mega Millions numbers are 1 to 302,575,350. The minimum Mega Millions advertised jackpot starts at $40 million. Its annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly payments. Winners may select one time lump-sum cash payout instead.
