The jackpot for Tuesday's Mega Millions drawing soars to $250,000,000

The grand prize in America's favorite Mega Millions lottery game continues to climb exciting players all across the nation. Because no player correctly matched all five lotto numbers and the Mega Ball number in Tuesday's drawing the jackpot will leap to a projected $250,000,000! The lump-sum cash payout stands at $$113.5 million. The numbers drawn Friday night, January 16th, 2026 were 02-22-33-42-67 with Mega Ball 01 and Megaplier x. There was no jackpot winning ticket sold in the past 85 draws since Friday, March 28th, 2025.The last jackpot was won by one lucky ticket sold in IL, matched all six numbers for a $344 million top prize.
Although the grand prize was not awarded Friday evening, Mega Millions had some big winners. There were two lucky players that correctly matched all 5 lotto numbers and won the 2nd prize. The two second prize winning ticket(s) purchased in won a quarter million dollar cash each.
Additional prizes won Friday night included 11 tickets that matched 4 white numbers together with Mega Ball and won $10,000. Other prizes won Friday evening included 131 tickets that matched 4 lotto numbers and won $500. 370 tickets matched 3 of the 5 lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number. These tickets are also each worth $200.
With nine prize levels, there were 465,404 winning tickets sold across the nation in the Friday, January 16th, 2026 drawing.
Mega Millions is a consortium associated with 44 state lotteries. It holds the record highest jackpot in North American lottery history.
