The jackpot for Friday's Mega Millions drawing skyrockets to $285,000,000

There has been another rollover in the jackpot for the multistate Mega Millions game - to $285,000,000. The cash option will be a projected $$135.1 million up for grab. The grand prize grew since no player hit all six numbers from Tuesday night's $262,000,000 drawing. The winning numbers from Tuesday night, January 23rd, 2024 were 21, 28, 58, 69, 70 with Mega Ball number 20 and Megaplier 2. There was no jackpot winning ticket sold in the past 13 draws since Tuesday, December 12th, 2023. Two lucky winners from CA(2) won the jackpot in Friday, December 8th, 2023 drawing and shared $395 million.

Although there was no jackpot winner Tuesday evening, Mega Millions did produce some big winners. 13 3rd prize winning tickets were sold across the U.S.. These included 13 tickets that matched 4 white numbers in addition to the Mega Ball and won $10,000.

Also, 280 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $500. 661 tickets matched 3 of the 5 lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number. These tickets are also each worth $200.

Mega Millions is a consortium of 44 state lotteries. It holds the record biggest jackpot of $656 million in United States lottery history. Mega Millions drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday at 7:59 PM Pacific Time. Mega Millions game uses a 5/70 (white balls) + 1/25 (Mega Balls) matrix to randomly choose winning numbers.
