The Mega Millions lottery grand prize has been pumped up to a projected $707,000,000 (lump-sum cash payout $$307.7 million) for the next drawing in the multistate lottery game Tuesday night. The grand prize amount has been rolled over because no player matched all six winning numbers to take the $672,000,000 jackpot Friday night. The winning numbers drawn Friday night, July 17th, 2026 were 22-34-45-48-55 and the Mega Ball was 14, Megaplier was .
While there was no grand prize winner Friday evening, Mega Millions had some big winners. A total of 9 lucky winners won the 3rd prize. Among them, 9 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers, as well as the Mega Ball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000.
Other winners Friday night included 222 tickets that matched 4 lotto numbers and won $500. Other prizes won included 687 tickets that matched 3 white numbers as well as the Mega Ball and won $200.
With 9 different prize levels, there were a total of 802,226 winning tickets sold across U.S. in the Friday, July 17th, 2026 drawing.
Mega Millions is a consortium involving 44 state lotteries. It holds the record largest jackpot in North American lottery history. On average, 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back for the players through prize winnings. Around 15% is used to as retailer commissions and lottery operating costs. About 35% total sales is used in government services, education and charities in the participating lottery states. Mega Millions drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday at 7:59 PM Pacific Time. To play Mega Millions, pick 5 numbers from a set of 70 and select a Mega Ball number from 1 to 25. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to spend $1 extra to purchase the Megaplier, which multiplies the prizes 2 to 5 times but not jackpot. The minimum Mega Millions grand prize is $40 million. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly payments. Winners may choose one lump-sum cash payout option instead.
