No jackpot winning ticket sold last night. Mega Millions jackpot rises to $153 million Tuesday night

There has been another rollover in the grand prize for the multistate Mega Millions game - to $153 million. The cash option will be a projected $110.1 million. The jackpot grew since no player matched all five white ball numbers plus the Mega Ball number from Friday night's $138 million drawing. The numbers from Friday, July 23rd, 2021 drawing were 13-17-19-40-69 with Mega Ball 17 and Megaplier X3. No one won the Mega Millions grand prize in the past 390 draws since Tuesday, October 17th, 2017.A single lucky player from New York won the $104 million top prize in Friday, September 22nd, 2017 drawing.
While there was no grand prize winner Friday evening, some players still walked away with huge pile of cash. A total of 13 lucky winners won the 3rd prize. These included 13 tickets that matched 4 white numbers as well as the Mega Ball and won $10,000.
In addition, 302 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $500. 841 tickets matched three of the five lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number. These tickets are also each worth $200.
With nine ways to win, there were a total of 1,153,272 winning tickets sold nationwide in the Friday, July 23rd, 2021 drawing.
Mega Millions game is played in 43 states and D.C. Approximately 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back towards the players in prize winnings. Around 15% goes to retailer commissions and lottery operation expenses. Approximately 35% total sales is used to support government services, education and charities in the participating lottery states. Mega Millions drawings occur every Tuesday and Friday night at 7:59 p.m. Pacific Time. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to pay $1 extra to purchase the Megaplier, which multiplies the original winnings 2 to 5 times but not jackpot. The minimum Mega Millions advertised grand prize starts at $40,000,000. Its annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly installments. Winners can choose one time lump-sum cash payout option instead.
