One lucky ticket in IL matched all 6 numbers in the Tuesday, June 4th, 2024 drawing and won the $560,000,000 jackpot. The winning numbers drawn Tuesday night, June 4th, 2024 were 19, 37, 40, 63, 69 with Mega Ball number 17 and Megaplier X3. The winner can either take a cash option worth $258.4 million before taxes, or decide to receive 30-year annuity option with yearly payment in the amount of $21.54 million before taxes. The winning ticket holder is encouraged to sign the ticket, place it in a secure place and contact lottery officials as soon as possible. Jackpot winner has the chance to select the cash value of the jackpot while claiming the prize. If the winner does not make choice, the payment option will revert to annuity by default.
In addition to the grand prize awarded on Tuesday, Mega Millions generated more pleased winners walked away with huge pile of cash. There were two lucky winners matched the first 5 white ball numbers but missed Mega Ball number, which won the second prize. The two second prize winning ticket(s) bought in CA,MD will collect a quarter million dollar cash each.
Additional prizes won Tuesday night included 23 tickets that matched 4 white numbers together with Mega Ball and won $10,000. Other prizes won Tuesday evening included 453 tickets that matched four white ball numbers and won $500. There were 1167 tickets that correctly matched three white ball numbers plus the Mega Ball and also won $200.

Mega Millions is a consortium involving 44 state lotteries. Mega Millions drawings occur 2 times a week every Tuesday and Friday night at 7:59 PM Pacific Time. To play Mega Millions, choose 5 numbers from a set of 70 and select 1 Mega Ball number from a set of 25. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to spend $1 extra to buy the Megaplier option, which multiplies the prizes 2 to 5 times but not grand prize. The chances of winning are about 1 to 14. The chances of matching 6 Mega Millions numbers are about 1 in 302 million. The minimum Mega Millions grand prize is $40 million. Its annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly installments. Winners may choose one-time lump-sum cash payout instead.
