The jackpot for Friday's Mega Millions drawing skyrockets to $489,000,000

The grand prize for Friday Mega Millions game leaped to $489,000,000 (cash value $$220.9 million) after no one hit all 5 white ball numbers and the Mega Ball number Tuesday night. The numbers from Tuesday, June 23rd, 2026 drawing were 48, 51, 60, 63, 66 with Mega Ball 20 and Megaplier . The Mega Millions grand prize has been growing for 130 draws since Friday, March 28th, 2025.A single lucky player from IL won the $344 million top prize in Tuesday, March 25th, 2025 drawing.
Although the jackpot was not awarded Tuesday evening, Mega Millions did produce some big winners. 5 3rd prize winning tickets were sold nationwide. Among them, 5 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers, as well as the Mega Ball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000.
Other prizes won Tuesday evening included 152 tickets that matched four lotto numbers and won $500. There were 423 tickets that correctly matched 3 white ball numbers plus the Mega Ball and also won $200.
With nine prize tiers, there were a total of 574,024 winning tickets sold nationwide in the Tuesday, June 23rd, 2026 drawing.
Mega Millions is a consortium involving 44 state lotteries. On average, 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back to the players in prize winnings. About 15% is used to as retailer commissions and lottery operation expenses. Approximately 35% total sales is used in government services, education and charities in the member states. Mega Millions drawings are held 2 times a week every Tuesday and Friday at 7:59 p.m. Pacific Time. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to pay 1 extra dollar to buy the Megaplier, which multiplies the prizes 2 to 5 times except jackpot. The minimum Mega Millions grand prize starts at $40,000,000. Its annuity option is paid in 30 equal annual payments. Winners can select one-time lump sum cash payout instead.
