A single lucky ticket in VA matched all 6 numbers in the Friday drawing and won the $348,000,000 grand prize. The numbers from Friday night, June 27th, 2025 were 18, 21, 29, 42, 50 with Mega Ball number 02 and Megaplier x. The winner will have the choice of 30 annuity payments with annual payment in the amount of $13.38 million for the entire prize amount of $348,000,000, or the one-time cash option of $155.5 million before tax withholding. The winning ticket holder is encouraged to sign the ticket, put it in a safe place and contact lottery officials as soon as possible. Jackpot winner has the chance to choose the cash value of the jackpot while claiming the prize. If the winner doesn't make choice, the payment option will revert to annuity by default.

In addition to the grand prize hit on Friday, Mega Millions generated far more happy winners walked away with large winnings. A total of 5 lucky players won the third prize. These included 5 tickets that matched 4 white numbers in addition to the Mega Ball and won $10,000.

Other winners Friday evening included 185 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers and won $500. 500 tickets matched three of the five lotto numbers, as well as the Mega Ball number. These tickets are also each worth $200.

Mega Millions is a consortium of 44 state lotteries. Roughly 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back towards the players through prizes. Approximately 15% goes to retailer commissions and lottery operation expenses. Around 35% total sales is used in government services, education and charities in the participating states. Mega Millions drawings are held 2 times a week every Tuesday and Friday at 7:59 PM Pacific Time. Mega Millions uses a 5/70+1/25 matrix to randomly choose winning numbers. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to spend $1 extra to purchase the Megaplier option, which multiplies the original winnings 2 to 5 times but not grand prize. The minimum Mega Millions jackpot is $40,000,000. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal annual installments. Winners can choose one-time lump sum cash payout option instead.
