The lottery official announced that the Tuesday, March 2nd, 2021, Mega Millions drawing resulted in a carry over, creating an $55 million grand prize for the next drawing Friday. The cash value will be a projected $38.1 million. The numbers drawn Tuesday night, March 2nd, 2021 were 04-08-13-34-64 and the Mega Ball was 18, Megaplier was 2. The Mega Millions grand prize has been growing for 349 draws since Tuesday, October 17th, 2017.A single lucky winner from New York won the $104 million jackpot in Friday, September 22nd, 2017 drawing.
While the jackpot was not awarded Tuesday evening, some people still walked away with huge pile of cash. There were a total of 13 third prize lucky winners. Among them, 13 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers, as well as the Mega Ball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000.
Other prizes won Tuesday evening included 255 tickets that matched four white numbers and won $500. 700 tickets matched three of the five lotto numbers, as well as the Mega Ball number. These tickets are also each worth $200.
With nine prize levels, there were a total of 991,704 winning tickets sold across the nation in the Tuesday, March 2nd, 2021 drawing.
Mega Millions lottery can be played in 43 states and Washington DC. It holds the record highest jackpot of $656 million in U.S. lottery history. Roughly 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back towards the players in prize winnings. Roughly 15% is used to as retailer commissions and lottery operation expenses. Approximately 35% total sales is used in government services, education and charities in the member lottery states. Mega Millions drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday night at 7:59 PM Pacific Time. To play Mega Millions, select 5 numbers from 1 to 70 and pick one Mega Ball number from 1 to 25. The minimum Mega Millions advertised jackpot is 40 million dollar. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly installments. Winners may select one time lump sum cash payout instead.
