Friday's Mega Millions jackpot moves to $277,000,000; One ticket matched the first 5 numbers

The grand prize in the Mega Millions multi-state lottery game has been rolled up to $277,000,000. The cash option will be a projected $$129.5 million. The prize amount was rolled over because no one hit all 6 numbers in Tuesday's $256,000,000 drawing. The next Mega Millions game drawing is Friday night. The winning numbers from Tuesday, March 11th, 2025 drawing were 01, 19, 26, 38, 69 and the Mega Ball was 15, Megaplier was 3. There was no jackpot winning ticket sold in the past fifteen draws since Tuesday, January 21st, 2025.The last jackpot was won by a single ticket sold in AZ, matched all six numbers for a $0 million top prize.
Although the jackpot was not hit Tuesday evening, Mega Millions did produce some big winners. There was only one lucky ticket matched all 5 white ball numbers but missed Mega Ball number, which won the 2nd prize. The one second prize winning ticket(s) bought in CA will collect a quarter million dollar cash each.
Other prizes won Tuesday evening included 11 tickets that matched 4 white numbers plus the Mega Ball and won $10,000. Also, 256 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $500. There were 650 tickets that matched three white ball numbers as well as the Mega Ball and also won $200.
With nine prize tiers, there were 1,026,666 winning tickets sold nationwide in the Tuesday, March 11th, 2025 drawing.
Mega Millions is a consortium involving 44 state lotteries. It holds the record biggest jackpot of $656 million in United States lottery history. Approximately 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back on the players in prizes. About 15% is used to as retailer commissions and lottery operating costs. Around 35% total sales is used to support government services, education and charities in the participating lottery states. Mega Millions drawings are held 2 times a week every Tuesday and Friday at 7:59 PM Pacific Time. Mega Millions game uses a 5/70+1/25 system from which winning numbers are chosen. The minimum Mega Millions grand prize starts at $40 million. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly payments. Winners can select one time lump-sum cash payout option instead.
