Mega Millions jackpot rises to $893,000,000 Tuesday, March 19th, 2024; One player won the second prize

The multi-state Mega Millions game grand prize has rised to a projected $893,000,000 dollars after there was no grand prize winner in Friday's drawing. The cash value will be a projected $$421.4 million up for grab. The numbers drawn Friday night, March 15th, 2024 were 13, 25, 50, 51, 66 and the Mega Ball was 06, Megaplier was 5. The Mega Millions grand prize has been rolling over for 28 draws since Tuesday, December 12th, 2023.
Although the jackpot was not hit Friday evening, Mega Millions had some huge winners. There was a single second prize winning ticket from Friday night's drawing, matching the first five numbers except the Mega Ball number. The one lucky ticket(s) sold in NY, each won $1,000,000 cash by matching all 5 white ball numbers.
Other prizes won Friday night included 30 tickets that matched 4 white numbers together with Mega Ball and won $10,000. In addition, 723 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $500. There were 1955 tickets that correctly matched three white ball numbers plus the Mega Ball and also won $200.
With nine prize tiers, there were a total of 3,174,200 winning tickets sold across the nation in the Friday, March 15th, 2024 drawing.
Mega Millions lottery is played in 43 states and Washington DC. Roughly 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back towards the players through prizes. Approximately 15% is used to as retailer commissions and lottery operation expenses. Approximately 35% total sales is used in government services, education and charities in the member states. Mega Millions drawings occur 2 times a week every Tuesday and Friday at 7:59 p.m. Pacific Time. The minimum Mega Millions grand prize starts at $40 million. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly installments. Winners may select one-time lump sum cash payout option instead.
