Without a big winner in the last drawing, the Mega Millions multistate lottery game has rolled over its grand prize to $137 million for Friday night's drawing. The cash option will be $92.5 million up for grab. Nobody matched all 5 white ball numbers plus the Mega Ball number to win the $122 million grand prize Tuesday. The next Mega Millions lottery drawing is going to be at 10:59 PM Friday night. The numbers drawn Tuesday night, March 23rd, 2021 were 12, 23, 35, 38, 55 and the Mega Ball was 11, Megaplier was 2. There was no jackpot winning ticket sold in the past 355 draws since Tuesday, October 17th, 2017.The last jackpot was won by a lucky ticket sold in New York, matched all six numbers for a $104 million top prize.
Although there was no jackpot winner Tuesday evening, Mega Millions did produce some big winners. A total of 20 lucky winners won the 3rd prize. These included 20 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers plus the Mega Ball and won $10,000.
In addition, 343 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $500. Other prizes won included 955 tickets that matched 3 white numbers together with Mega Ball and won $200.
With nine different prize tiers, there were a total of 1,414,070 winning tickets sold across the nation in the Tuesday, March 23rd, 2021 drawing.
Mega Millions game is played in 43 states and D.C. It holds the record largest jackpot of $656 million in North American lottery history. Around 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back for the players through prize winnings. About 15% goes to commission of retailers and lottery operation expenses. Around 35% total sales is used to support government services, education and charities in the member lottery states. Mega Millions lottery uses a 5/70 (white balls) + 1/25 (Mega Balls) system to randomly choose winning numbers. The minimum Mega Millions jackpot starts at 40 million dollar. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly installments. Winners can choose one lump sum cash payout instead.
