Enormous Mega Millions jackpot up for grabs Tuesday night

There has been another carry over in the jackpot for the multistate Mega Millions - to $489,000,000. The cash option stands at an estimated $$225.3 million. The grand prize grew because no one hit all six numbers from Friday night's $453,000,000 drawing. The numbers drawn Friday night, November 22nd, 2024 were 13-20-26-32-65 with Mega Ball number 02 and Megaplier x2.
Though there was no jackpot winner Friday evening, some players still walked away with large winnings. There was a single lucky player that correctly matched the first five numbers and won the second prize. The one second prize winning ticket(s) bought in VA won $1,000,000 cash each.
Other prizes won Friday night included 7 tickets that matched 4 white numbers as well as the Mega Ball and won $10,000. Additional prizes won Friday night included 385 tickets that matched 4 white numbers and won $500. There were 1010 tickets that matched 3 white ball numbers plus the Mega Ball and also won $200.
With 9 different ways to win, there were a total of 1,531,526 winning tickets sold nationwide in the Friday, November 22nd, 2024 drawing.
Mega Millions can be played in 43 states and D.C. It holds the record biggest jackpot of $656 million in United States lottery history. On average, 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back on the players through prize winnings. Roughly 15% is used to as retailer commissions and lottery operating costs. Around 35% total sales is used to support government services, education and charities in the participating states. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to spend $1 extra to buy the Megaplier, which multiplies the prizes 2 to 5 times but not jackpot. The minimum Mega Millions advertised grand prize is $40 million. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal annual installments. Winners can select one lump-sum cash payout option instead.
