Friday's Mega Millions jackpot breaks to $514,000,000; Two second prize tickets sold

The grand prize in the multi-state Mega Millions drawing rolled up to $514,000,000 for the Friday drawing. The cash value stands at an estimated $$241 million. None of the tickets sold for Tuesday's $489,000,000 drawing hit six winning numbers. The numbers from Tuesday, November 26th, 2024 drawing were 05, 22, 24, 39, 42 and the Mega Ball was 03, Megaplier was 3. There was no jackpot winning ticket sold in the past 22 draws since Friday, September 13th, 2024.The last jackpot was won by one lucky ticket sold in TX, matched all six numbers for a $800 million top prize.

Though there was no jackpot winner Tuesday evening, some players still walked away with huge prizes. There were two second prize winning tickets from Tuesday night's drawing, matching the first five lotto numbers except the Mega Ball number. The two lucky ticket(s) sold in CA(2), each won $1,000,000 cash by matching all 5 white ball numbers.

Additional prizes won Tuesday night included 14 tickets that matched 4 white numbers as well as the Mega Ball and won $10,000. Other winners Tuesday night included 422 tickets that matched 4 lotto numbers and won $500. 1319 tickets matched 3 of the 5 lotto numbers, as well as the Mega Ball number. These tickets are also each worth $200.

With 9 prize levels, there were a total of 1,783,374 winning tickets sold across U.S. in the Tuesday, November 26th, 2024 drawing.

Mega Millions is a consortium of 44 state lotteries. It holds the record largest jackpot of $656 million in North American lottery history. Approximately 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back on the players through prizes. Around 15% goes to retailer commissions and lottery operation expenses. Around 35% total sales is used in government services, education and charities in the member lottery states. Mega Millions uses a 5/70+1/25 system from which winning numbers are chosen. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to pay $1 extra to purchase the Megaplier option, which multiplies the winnings 2 to 5 times except grand prize. The overall odds of winning any prizes are about 1 to 14. The chances of matching 6 Mega Millions numbers are about 1 in 302 million. The minimum Mega Millions advertised grand prize is 40 million dollar. Its annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly installments. Winners can choose one-time lump sum cash payout option instead.
