Friday's Mega Millions jackpot leaps to $108,000,000; 1 second prize ticket sold

With no winner in the last draw, the Mega Millions lottery jackpot will be worth $108,000,000 (cash value $$53.8 million) the next time the multistate lottery is played on Friday. The amount rolled over because no one hit all six winning numbers to win the $93,000,000 grand prize Tuesday night. The winning numbers from Tuesday, October 1st, 2024 drawing were 27-35-47-50-66 and the Mega Ball was 25, Megaplier was 2.
While there was no jackpot winner Tuesday evening, some people still walked away with big money. There was a single second prize winner from Tuesday night's Mega Millions drawing, matching all 5 numbers but not the Mega Ball number. The 1 lucky ticket(s) purchased in NY, each won one quarter million dollar cash by matching all 5 white ball numbers.
Additional prizes won Tuesday night included 3 tickets that matched 4 white numbers together with Mega Ball and won $10,000. Other prizes won Tuesday evening included 181 tickets that matched 4 lotto numbers and won $500. There were 501 tickets that matched three white ball numbers as well as the Mega Ball and also won $200.
With nine prize levels, there were a total of 836,000 winning tickets sold nationwide in the Tuesday, October 1st, 2024 drawing.
Mega Millions game can be played in 43 states and Washington DC. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to pay $1 extra to purchase the Megaplier option, which multiplies the original winnings 2 to 5 times but not grand prize. The overall chances of winning any prizes are about 1 to 14. The chances of matching 6 Mega Millions numbers are 1 to 302,575,350. The minimum Mega Millions grand prize starts at $40 million. Its annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly installments. Winners may choose one time lump-sum cash payout instead.
