Mega Millions jackpot jumps to $185,000,000 Friday; 1 second prize ticket sold

Tuesday night's Mega Millions game drawing has yielded no grand prize winner for the $169,000,000 grand prize. With nobody matched all 5 white ball numbers and the Mega Ball number in Mega Millions game , Friday night's drawing will be worth an estimated $185,000,000 for a single winner. The cash value will be an estimated $$88.4 million up for grab. The winning numbers from Tuesday, October 15th, 2024 drawing were 22-34-44-54-62 with Mega Ball number 03 and Megaplier x3.
Although there was no jackpot winner Tuesday evening, some people still walked away with huge pile of cash. There was a single 2nd prize winning ticket from Tuesday night's Mega Millions drawing, matching the first five lotto numbers except the Mega Ball number. The 1 second prize winning ticket(s) purchased in MD won a quarter million dollar cash each.
Other major winners Tuesday evening included 13 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers as well as the Mega Ball and won $10,000. There were 623 tickets that matched three white ball numbers plus the Mega Ball and also won $200.

Mega Millions is an U.S. popular lottery game offered in 44 member states as a pari-mutuel jackpot game. Approximately 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back towards the players in prizes. About 15% goes to commission of retailers and lottery operation expenses. Approximately 35% total sales is used to support government services, education and charities in the participating states. Mega Millions uses a 5/70 (white balls) + 1/25 (Mega Balls) matrix to randomly choose winning numbers. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to pay $1 extra to buy the Megaplier option, which multiplies the winnings 2 to 5 times except jackpot. The overall odds of winning are about 1 to 14. The odds of winning Mega Millions grand prize are 1 to 302,575,350. The minimum Mega Millions jackpot is 40 million dollar. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly installments. Winners may choose one-time lump sum cash payout option instead.
