One single Mega Millions winning ticket worth $800,000,000 was purchased in TX

A single winner has taken the $800,000,000 grand prize from the latest drawing of the multistate Florida Mega Millions. The only ticket to match all the winning numbers from Tuesday night's drawing was sold in TX. The winning numbers from Tuesday night, September 10th, 2024 were 01-02-16-24-66 with Mega Ball 06 and Megaplier X4. The winner can either take a cash option worth $401.8 million before taxes, or choose to receive 30-year annuity option with annual payment in the amount of $30.77 million before taxes. The winning ticket holder is encouraged to sign the ticket, put it in a safe place and contact lottery officials as soon as possible. Jackpot winner has the opportunity to select the cash value of the jackpot while claiming the prize. If the winner doesn't make choice, the payment option will revert to annuity by default.
Besides the jackpot won on Tuesday, Mega Millions generated far more pleased winners walked away with large winnings. There were 4 lucky tickets correctly matched all 5 white ball numbers but missed Mega Ball number, which won the second prize. The 4 second prize winning ticket(s) bought in CA,FL,NY,WA will collect $1,000,000 cash each.
Additional prizes won Tuesday night included 37 tickets that matched 4 white numbers plus the Mega Ball and won $10,000. Other prizes won Tuesday evening included 1074 tickets that matched 4 lotto numbers and won $500. There were 2983 tickets that matched 3 white ball numbers plus the Mega Ball and also won $200.
With nine different prize levels, there were 4,219,474 winning tickets sold nationwide in the Tuesday, September 10th, 2024 drawing.
The next Florida Mega Millions lottery drawing, Friday night, will feature a jackpot of $20,000,000 with the cash option at $$10.1 million.
Mega Millions is a consortium involving 44 state lotteries. Mega Millions drawings occur every Tuesday and Friday night at 7:59 PM Pacific Time. To play Mega Millions, select 5 numbers from 1 to 70 then choose a Mega Ball number from a set of 25. The minimum Mega Millions jackpot starts at 40 million dollar.
