Friday's Mega Millions jackpot builds to $77,000,000; Seven second prize tickets sold

There has been another carry over in the jackpot for the multistate Mega Millions game - to $77,000,000. The cash value will be $$38.2 million. The jackpot grew because nobody matched all 6 numbers from Tuesday night's $62,000,000 drawing. The numbers from Tuesday, September 24th, 2024 drawing were 01, 06, 10, 23, 27 and the Mega Ball was 18, Megaplier was 5.
Even though there was no grand prize winner Tuesday evening, Mega Millions had some huge winners. There were seven lucky tickets matched the first 5 white ball numbers but missed Mega Ball number, which won the second prize. The seven lucky ticket(s) sold in LA,MO,NY,PA,TN,VA(2), each won one quarter million dollar cash by matching all 5 white ball numbers.
Additional prizes won Tuesday night included 17 tickets that matched 4 white numbers plus the Mega Ball and won $10,000. Other prizes won Tuesday night included 588 tickets that matched four white numbers and won $500. 703 tickets matched 3 of the 5 lotto numbers, as well as the Mega Ball number. These tickets are also each worth $200.
With nine prize tiers, there were 819,416 winning tickets sold across U.S. in the Tuesday, September 24th, 2024 drawing.
Mega Millions is a consortium of 44 state lotteries. The chances of winning any prizes are about 1 to 14. The odds of winning Mega Millions grand prize are 1 to 302,575,350. The minimum Mega Millions advertised jackpot starts at $40,000,000. Its annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly payments. Winners may choose one lump sum cash payout option instead.
