A winner from CA won $44,000,000 jackpot from the Powerball drawing Monday night

A winning lottery ticket worth $44,000,000 was purchased in CA. The Powerball game jackpot was won by one ticket, although it wasn't yet known if that ticket is held by a single winner or a group. The winning numbers from Monday night, August 19th, 2024 were 01-02-15-23-28 and Powerball number was 10. The jackpot winner will now have to decide to either take the 29-year, 30-installment annuity, or the one time cash lump-sum in the amount of $21.7 million before tax withholding. The winning ticket holder is highly suggested to sign the ticket, place it in a safe place and contact lottery officials as soon as possible. Jackpot winner has the chance to select the cash value of the jackpot while claimng the prizes. If the winner doesn't make choice, the payment option will revert to annuity by default.
