Wednesday's Powerball jackpot breaks to $69,000,000; 2 players won the second prize

There were no Powerball jackpot winners for Monday's $56,000,000 dollar drawing, so the jackpot will increase to $69,000,000 with the lump-sum cash payout of a projected $$30.7 million Wednesday, January 29th, 2025. The winning numbers from Monday, January 27th, 2025 drawing were 02-40-47-53-55 with Power Ball 20.
Though the jackpot was not hit Monday evening, some players still walked away with huge pile of cash. There were 2 lucky winners correctly matched the first 5 white ball numbers but missed Powerball number, which won the 2nd prize. The two second prize ticket(s) from AZ(1) and PR(1) matched all 5 white ball numbers and also purchased Power Play, which doubled the prize to 2 million dollar cash win!
Additional prizes won Monday evening included 2 tickets that matched four white ball numbers as well as the Powerball and won $10,000. 5 additional players not only matched 4+1, but also bought the Power Play option, multiplying the winnings by 4 for a total win of $40,000 each!
There were 24,692 Powewrball winning tickets sold in the state of Florida. No tickets sold in Florida matched 4 white ball numbers and also the Powerball with Power Play option purchased. These lucky ticket holders will collect $40,000 cash each. There were 45 lucky Florida winners won $100 prize by matching 4 or 3+1 numbers. 10 tickets were sold in the state of Florida which matched either 4 or 3+1 numbers with Power Play. The lucky ticket holders will receive $200 each.
With nine prize tiers, there were 263,018 tickets nationwide won a total of $0 prizes in the Monday, January 27th, 2025 drawing.
Powerball lottery can be played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to pay $1 extra to purchase the Power Play, which increases the prizes except jackpot. The odds of winning any prizes is about 1 to 32. The odds of winning Powerball grand prize are about 1 in 292 million. The minimum Powerball jackpot starts at 40 million dollar. Its annuity option is paid in 30 graduated installments in 29 years.
