Powerball jackpot rises to $131,000,000; 1 player won the second prize

The Powerball multi-state lottery grand prize leaped to $131,000,000 (cash option $$62.8 million) Saturday night when there were no jackpot winning tickets in the $114,000,000 drawing, lottery officials said. The winning numbers from Wednesday, July 24th, 2024 drawing were 16-42-59-63-68 with Power Ball 13.

Even though there was no jackpot winner Wednesday evening, some people still walked away with large winnings. There was a sole lucky winner matched the first five white ball numbers but missed Powerball number, which won the 2nd prize. The 1 ticket(s) in GA matched the first 5 lotto numbers with the Power Play for an incredible 2 million dollar cash win!

Additional prizes won Wednesday evening included 2 tickets that matched 4 white numbers in addition to the Powerball and won $10,000. There were 4 tickets matched 4+1 with Power Play option, multiplying the prizes by 4 for a total win of $40,000 each!

With nine different prize tiers, there were 380,335 tickets nationwide won $0 prizes in the Wednesday, July 24th, 2024 drawing.

America's favorite Powerball game can be played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Powerball game uses a 5/69+1/26 matrix from which winning numbers are chosen. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to pay 1 extra dollar to purchase the Power Play option, which multiplies the winnings but not grand prize. The minimum Powerball advertised grand prize starts at $40,000,000. The annuity option is paid in 30 yearly increment installments in 29 years. Winners can select one-time lump sum cash payout instead.
