The jackpot for Wednesday's Powerball drawing skyrockets to $275,000,000

The Powerball game grand prize has been pumped up to $275,000,000 (cash value $$137.8 million) for the next drawing in the multistate lottery game Wednesday night. The jackpot amount has been rolled over since no one matched all five lotto numbers plus the Powerball number to take the $258,000,000 grand prize Monday night. The numbers from Monday night, September 30th, 2024 were 09, 11, 30, 43, 69 and Powerball was 20. The Powerball jackpot has been growing for 18 draws since Wednesday, August 21st, 2024. The last jackpot was won by one lucky ticket sold in CA, matched all six numbers for a 44,000,000 top prize.
Although there was no grand prize winner Monday evening, some people still walked away with big money. A total of 13 lucky tickets won the 3rd prize with or without Power Play. 1 additional tickets at this prize level were also wisely bought with the Power Play option that multiplied winnings 4 times to $40,000 cash!
Other winners Monday evening included 260 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers and won $100. 92 additional players not just matched 4 white ball, but also purchased the Power Play option, double the winnings to a total win of $200 each! Other prizes won Monday evening included 670 tickets that matched 3 white numbers as well as the Powerball and won $100. 221 additional tickets at this prize level were also purchased with the Power Play option that doubled the prize to $200 cash.
With nine ways to win, the Monday night's drawing produced 431,057 winning tickets nationwide with a total amount of $0 prizes.
America's favorite Powerball game can be played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Powerball drawings are held every Wednesday and Saturday night at 10:59 PM Eastern Time. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to spend 1 extra dollar to buy the Power Play option, which increases the original prizes but not grand prize. The overall odds of winning any prizes is about 1 to 32. The chances of winning Powerball jackpot are 1 to 292,201,338. The minimum Powerball advertised jackpot starts at $40 million. The annuity option is paid in 30 yearly increment payments. Winners can choose one lump-sum cash payout instead.
